After the successful launch of the 9-3 Cabrio and sedan, Saab is gearing up for yet another addition to the lineup in the form of a sport wagon. A concept version of this upcoming addition was unveiled at this year's Frankfurt International Motor Show. With a shape inspired by the earlier Saab 9-3X concept, Saab further refined the idea into the 9-3 Sport-Hatch concept. Intended to blur the lines between traditional wagons and hatchbacks, the Sport-Hatch is less radical than the 9-3X, but no less appealing thanks to its swoopy exterior shape and more useful configuration. In very Saab-like fashion, the five-door "fastback" is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine which rated at 250 horsepower. Expect to see a production version of the Sport-Hatch later next year. Surprisingly smooth and quiet

Author's Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Truly great variable valve timing, multi-point fuel injection engine and fun styling inside and out.

Cons: Styling compromises visibility, sub par cup holders, no stability control, no disc brakes in back.

Bottom Line:
Strong buy recommendation. The HHR is a winning combination of style, efficiency and value. Read More

Long Live the Lead Sled

Author's Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Style, functionality, ride/handling, comfortable seating, sound system, gas mileage.

Cons: Cheap interior, power window button placement, limited cubbies to store small items up front.

Bottom Line:
With gas approaching $3.00 per gallon my HHR does almost everything my SUV did at a fraction of the price. Long live the Lead Sled! Read More

Style, sass and great on gas

Author's Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Nifty styling. Good gas mileage. Plenty of pep. Great fit and finish.

Cons: Hate the window switch position. Selling at full sticker.

Bottom Line:
A very good value, even at full sticker. Avoid the 2.2 liter. The 2.4 liter is the only way to fly. This little bruiser outshines the competition. Read More

Any reason to buy this PT Cruiser knock-off?

Author's Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Smoother and quieter ride, more refined engine, more macho styling, driving position

Cons: Not as cute, no performance engine option, numb steering, more lean in turns

Bottom Line:
Largely a me-too product that breaks no new ground, the HHR's main advantage over the PT Cruiser is a smoother, quieter ride. Read More
