D200 - Don't be Intimidated - This CAN Be Your First dSLR!

Pros: Pro-level capabilities, and useful for a beginner after a few hours of use/reading the manual.

Cons: For a beginner who ONLY wants a simplistic point-and-shoot; this isn't the right camera.

Pros: Continuous shutter without delay is amazing. Recently shot humpback whales breaching...spectacular!

Cons: Camera is heavy and bulky, but you know you are holding quality. Get a backpack
