I first bought my son a cheap 50 dollar Costco car seat from Walmart and while it worked fine it just did not offer the neck support he needed when switching from an infant seat to a convertible car seat. We switched my son around 8 months old when he started nearing 22 pounds. I have a 4 door Honda Civic and it fits great in that car or in a couple other cars that grandparents have such as a Nissan Altima. It does come with a removable neck support for infants but we bought this later so we didn't use that and it also came with the toddler pillow but we haven't had the need for that either. We haven't had a use for the cup holder either but as he gets older it should come in handy. I love that the straps come with strap cover to protect their necks from rubbing from the straps but you cant remove them without removing the straps which is a pain but they are easy to clean. I haven't tried to take it apart to machine wash yet since it seemed to complicated for me at the moment but it wipes clean with baby wipes so I haven't needed to. My son seems very comfortable in this seat and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great car seat that can last from birth until your little ones gets out of a car seat. You really get your moneys worth since they can use it for so long.
