I love the Sims 2 series, both for the PC and PS2. But I've gotta say, Castaway was quite disappointing for me. All and all it was impressive, until the end. It was way too easy and short. It takes a couple of days of playing it to beat it. Sure some things are confusing such as trying to find the materials for some kinds of building material (such as sandlewood) which add to the puzzle to make it more interesting yet frustrating, but it still didn't hold it's end. The game is cool in the sense of exploring and finding neat things and ways to build/eat/get around. So your only friends are monkey and they don't help much. They'll bring you some banana leaves but other than that, not much help. the funny thing is I used cheat codes to see how long it took to finish the game. It took no more than 30 minutes. Even with cheat codes on the Sims 2 in general, you can't beat it that fast. I was on a roll playing it normally and after the third island I was shocked to find that that was it. Once you see the volcano it's over. I thought there would be more to it. If you like puzzle games, you will love this game. I however am not big into puzzles as I get frustrated quickly if I can't solve it so that didn't help me. When I saw the commercials and advertisements for it I thought it was going to be an awesome intriguing game but it turned out to be a fast disappointment to me.
