Jack's Mannequin: Andrew McMahon (vocals, harmonica, piano, organ, bells); Jim Wirt (guitar, bass instrument); Bobby "Raw" Anderson (guitar, background vocals); Patrick Warren (accordion, chamberlin, Moog synthesizer, sampler). Additional personnel: Tommy Lee (drums); CJ Eirksson (programming). Recording information: 4th Street Recording, Santa Monica, California (2006). A side project to the emo band Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin allows vocalist/keyboardist Andrew McMahon to indulge his passion for power-pop. A song cycle about a painful break-up, EVERYTHING IN TRANSIT applies undeniably catchy melodies to a narrative of emotional turmoil, with McMahon often evoking a younger, edgier Ben Folds. Although McMahon was diagnosed with leukemia shortly before this album's release, these dynamic tunes reveal an uplifting tenacity.
