Good For Everyone, Hiking, Driving, and Fishing.

Author's Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Expandable Memory, Color Screen, Brightness Settings, Electronic Compass, Barometer, and adequate basemaps

Cons: Packaged Software could be better, need to purchase additional maps from Garmin to unlock potential

Bottom Line:
I recommend this unit to people excited about using the GPS system who are looking for an expandable unit that does a little bit of everything. Read More

Very easy to learn, lots of features

Author's Rating: 5/5 stars

Pros: Large, bright display. Just-right form factor. Easy to learn (with or without the manual).

Cons: Pretty basic package; you'll likely need to buy an accessory or two.

Bottom Line:
It's all good with the Garmin, so far. Its interface, feature set and quality are outstanding. Read More

See new vistas with the Vista Cx!

Author's Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Good performance, feature loaded, durable in most regards, easy to read, electronic compass.

Cons: No way to disable barometric altimeter, kinda ugly, expensive maps

Bottom Line:
I'd strongly suggest looking at the competition as well, but that doesn't make this a less excellent product! It is definitely an extremely flexible little device~ Read More

A good moderate priced small GPS unit with the necessities.

Author's Rating: 4/5 stars

Pros: Small, light weight, good (but not excellent) reception, great battery life, reasonable price.

Cons: Low quality base map, wish the screen were slightly larger, not good for driving.

Bottom Line:
A good economical choice for outdoor types with all the features you need, but also compare the HCx version for better reception. Not recommended for driving. Read More

Real world experience review of this GPS unit

Author's Rating: 1/5 stars

Pros: Fairly inexpensive now that it has been replaced with a newer model.

Cons: Poor signal reception which is easily lost. Lousy preloaded maps.

Bottom Line:
I would not buy another one.  I would shop for a unit that has a better sensor. Read More
