Quickbooks Pro 2008 = Don't Do It

I've been a long-time user of Quickbooks and thought I would upgrade to Quickbooks Pro 2008 because I had bought a new computer with Vista. After loading the program we noticed how much longer it took than past versions, then we tried to use it...locked up everytime. So I tried to contact tech support only to find out you have to pay $49 to talk to a live person or send an email to them and then they would respond. They claim they will respond in approximately 30 mins. That's been several days ago and no response yet. I visited the Intuit / Quickbooks website and looked through every tech support article I could find and tried everything that looked like it applied to my problem. No luck. Then I tried to turning off UAC and the Run as Administrator on the .exe file. Still no luck. After googling online I found out this product has TONS of issues and pretty much doesn't work which is a slap in the face for someone whose used it since 2001 to run their business. In addition to using it to balance our checkbooks we use it to create and email invoices which we can't do now because which is costing us $$$ each day we are down. From what I gather talking to others online and reading through all the posts, it appears that Intuit doesn't seem to care about customer satisfaction and is more worried about selling products. It reminds me of what I was told years ago when investigating a train accident. I found out that the conductors and engineers were told that if a car got stuck on the tracks and was less than 3/4 mile away to just keep going because there was no way they could stop in time. That it would just be cheaper to settle the lawsuit than to hold up the freight from arriving on time which would cost them more money. Complete disregard and respect for life. That really bothered me. This product really bothers me the same way.
